Savour Christmas Food Festival 2016

Not Gonna Lie, Christmas markets in Singapore are starting way earlier and earlier. My first christmas market experience is at Marina Bay Sands, #Savour2016. Savour is a concept whereby top restaurants in Singapore would bring in their best food and drinks for consumers to try. Apart from that, this is the first christmas market that savour has hosted, it was a great merry and festive season. With live music by INCH chua and tons of ciders and wines to try, it was definitely an awesome night.

As a seafood lover, the first dish that stole my heart away was the Irish & US Pacific Bay oysters. It's rich in taste and flavour, and the lemon with the tobacco sauce made everything really watery for the mouth. A dozen of oysters for $24? Worth it.

We continued our entree dishes outside of the christmas market and started with Roasted Hokkaido Scallop by Saveur Art Restaurant. $12 for one small dish? Well, It's not that bad if you like bland grilled scallop.

Walked on, and saw this Skirt restaurant and they served this Mai-Tai Lobster Mash, gotta admit, this dish was rather unique. It has like.... Sweet Potato, Lobster Sauce, Lobster Coconut Foam, King Prawn in Katafi. But if you're not a fan of sweet potato and milky flavoured texture, then i suggest you better keep at $12 or buy 2 Singapore sling popsicles with Bird-Nest cocktail. Yums.

Finally had some craving for pork, and we decided to have this Baked & Braised Pancetta Iberica by Luna. Gosh, this is probably one of the best pork dish I ever tasted! It has like Iberico Pork Belly, Sauté Red Cabbage with Green Apple, Honey and Veal Juice Glaze, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potato and Microgreens. Thumbs up for this dish! 10/10

I heard great raves about this crispy pork roast belly from Stellar at 1-Altitude and we certainly queued up for like at least a good 25 minutes for this pork belly. Again, $12 for like 6 slices of Pork. Not so worth it.

Went ahead and tried this seafood stew and classic king cereal prawns by Gattoprado Italian Restaurant. It was well..... overrated. $27 for a combo of 2. It was worth a try, at the very least.

Subsequently, the weather took the better of us and we decided to head back to the christmas market for some dessert before we continued on to our main entree..... the only tempting store was the Hokkaido Lavender Soft Serve Ice cream which costs like $6 per cone. Yums.

Continued our feasting journey, and this time, we tried the coffee pork buns. It was well, interesting and the caffeine wasn't too strong. But again..... $12. So practically, if you had 10 dishes, it'll be a $120. All in bite sizes and 1 serving.

Overall, it was a great christmas market experience even though I think it was pretty early. Another christmas market coming up next would be the Winter Wonderland at Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bays. There you'll enjoy games, beautiful lightnings and scenery along with a closed section of ice skating. But beware of the queue.
